Good Morning Snow ...

Maybe it's because I hail from the desert that snow is so captivating to me,
Maybe it's because we've never had back-to-back blizzards in my 20+ years in Denver,
Maybe it's because snow's just a strange and beautiful phenomenon ...
.
But whatever it is, here are more pictures of our current snow storm...
We have had 15 inches plus at our house in the past 24 hours,
9news is reporting 27" in Golden and I-70 is closed to Kansas.
.
On Friday, the storm's "2nd wave" must have decided to splash somewhere else,
So our total of 18" by Friday night looks to be the end of this storm.
Come on sunshine, show us what you can do!!

Can This Be True? Potentially 4 More Feet of Snow??

Thursday ~ 28-December-2006 ~ 7.00pm

KUSA - The snowfall in the metro area will continue through Friday morning, covering roads that were still packed from last week's blizzard. 9NEWS Chief Meteorologist Kathy Sabine says the metro area could get up to a foot of snow by Friday morning. The foothills and mountains on the Front Range could get up to 2 feet.

Kathy says it is likely there will be a break in the snowfall Friday afternoon before a second wave moves in by Friday evening. The second wave could drop an additional 10 to 20 inches of snow by the end of the weekend. The heaviest amounts of snow are expected to be in the areas west of I-25.

Snowfall rates are 2 inches per hour in some areas, especially in the foothills along the Front Range. There is also thundersnow with this storm. That means there will be thunder and lighting, especially in the foothills, overnight Thursday. This storm also has heavy, wet snow, which could break more tree branches, damage roofs and it will be much heavier to shovel. North winds could get up to 15 to 25 mph with gusts as high as 35 mph that could create blowing and drifting snow.

Yep... It's True!!

Our town is reporting 33" which is the most snow in a storm since 1913!
