Day 14 ~ Wednesday 8/9 ~ Debrief & Gifts

Our last day in China and our first day to sleep in a bit ~ what a precious rest for weary bodies. We’ve been pushing and pushing and pushing and pushing ~ to see it all and to experience it all. This trip has been fantastic. On this, our last day, Meliisa and I “splurged” and ordered a full American breakfast for room service delivery at 8.30am. Between the two of us, one of these huge meals was just perfect! After I had prepared my coffee the way I like it (with mile, cocoa, and splenda), Melissa served me cheese omelette and bacon in breakfast ~ what a treat! After a quick shower, we joined the team in Erik’s room for a full de-brief of the trip ~ the country, the travels, the schedule, the school, the students. It was such a honor to be a part of what God is doing in China. There is a mighty wind of His Spirit blowing through and the Christian population is growing and above ground.

Our debrief was awesome ~ We were able to review how God worked in our lives throughout the previous days as we shared highlights and ideas for strengthening future English Camp trips to China. It was an encouraging, thought provoking, and memory inducing visit. Our prayer time was sooooooooo sweet as we prayed for our students and God to continue to draw them unto himself.

At 1.00pm, we were set free to rest and pack or to dash and shop. Ryan and I chose the latter and we took a cab to the Silk Market in Beijing for shopping ... oh my gosh! Then a quick trip back to the hotel to start our long adventure home to Colorado, our family, our friends, and our own beds!
