Lake Powell ... It's An Attitude!

Finally, a long-awaited trip to Lake Powell
It seems like we've been waiting forever!

Getting ready to leave the neighborhood:
Driving 8 hours (well, maybe 9 with a gas stop!):
Launching the boats at 1.30am with no moon!!
(not only for convenience, but for sanity:~)
Our campspots in the RV Painted Desert RV Park at Bullfrog:
Ahh, the lake ~ 80 degree water,
95 degree air temperature ~
PERFECT!!
A Mud / Waterfall after the big storm Thursday afternoon:
Friday morning ~ a flat tube & boat engine don't mix!
(a quick fix once Robyn & Jocko swam us to shore :)

Aunt Robyn, can we double ski?? Sure Sean!!
Now that's what I call fun!!
Our shore spot where we swam & hiked to the
Anasazi Indian ruins called "Defiance House"

Sam's favorite ~ tubing!
Sam with Clyde the Chameleon
(psst, don't tell Clyde you can see him
He's a Chameleon and is hiding!)

The Halls Crossing Ferry:
Hiking to Prickly Island ~ YOUCH!
A big day & a long drive to Rainbow Bridge
(someone has to hold it up now & then :)
I love those long-distance boating days!
Our biggest goofball at the lake!
Sean worked diligently to master Robyn's slalom ski ~
Here was his best of 18 attempts ~ what a trooper!
He's looking forward to getting stronger!
Sam tubing behind "Rode Hard" and Sean skiing behind "Romper Room"
We were told the storm had brought so much mud
down Moki Canyon that a houseboat was stranded
150 feet away from water afterward ~
Our curiosity took us on the tour of this unbelievable site!

Sean skiing out of Moki Canyon and out of the wake ~
He's getting to be quite an expert!
(And getting back in the wake was so much easier with
the "hint" from Uncle Darold to turn the boat a little!)

Sam was a hard worker on the water skis as well...
He made it about 20 or 30 yards on his best run and looked great!
Can't wait until next time, but first, a nap is in order!
(and yes, the boat was moving ~ we were pulling Sean, the Skier Dude!)

Love, Sherrie

I have lots of fond memories of Lake Powell! We always camped near Bullfrog, so the pictures felt familiar. Glad you had a great trip!
