The Big One!

We had a great, big, long, lovely, wonderful, two-week vacation this summer ...
It was June/July & of course, it involved a lot of Lake Powell!

Drew & Brittany spent some time at Powell,
Tom, Cousin Keri, Kaley & Aubrey joined us for a few days,
and Aunt Cris & Uncle Charlie shared our venture for several days ~
and man, did we have a fun time!

There were a few disappointments... at the last minute Robyn & Darold
were called away and couldn't join us and we felt their absence every day,
Dave injured his toe like none other, and the visits by all of our guests were much shorter
than we (or they!) would have liked.

But even with its limitations, the vacation was so lovely we fondly recall
our awesome times together & the great memories we made!

Tom & Keri, Kali & Aubrey on the Trampoline our first day :)Jump Kali, Jump!
The eats were awesome, of course Aunt Cris made sure of that!
Precious Aubrey & Kali ... what lovely guests!
Our campground overlooking Bullfrog Marina...
Lovin' my cousin!
Our second day venturing out on the water ... time for great fun!
Kali looks totally ready to keep up with Sean!!
Aunt Cris shooting at Trash Birds ~ gal after my own heart!
Yee haw!! Faster, Faster, Faster!!!
Now this is what Cris & Keri call relaxing & fun!
Drew & Britt enjoying the best ski in the world ...
The bungee rope and swimming :)
Uncle Charlie was in charge of the passenger seat ... we so enjoyed
having him with us on this adventure to a lake that's been "his" for years!
Aunt Cris ...
Our famous goofball!
Tom, Aubrey, Kali & Keri ... time for a family spin...
Awesome Sean!
Drew & Britt with a King/Queen of the Mountain Battle Royale!
Who's the goofball floating in front of the New Mexico family?
Keri & Kali playing tons & jumping off the molecule...
We were anchored in Forgotten Canyon for lunch and an adventure...
Here's our big team swimming up the canyon ... probably 1.2 miles,
then we hiked about .5 miles to Defiance House, the indian ruins...
It was a huge swim and quite an adventure...
Too cool!
Tom, Aubrey, Kali & Keri on our return...
Dave's one & only day on the lake, in the water, and without pain ...
Our shore camp... we set it up but didn't need it. So after a day, Dave took it apart.
Unfortunately, the ez-up jumped on his toe and broke the nail apart and tore
the flesh deep down nasty ... 5 stitches through the nail!!
Another day, another set of adventures!
Drew & Britt on the wakeboard and Brit tackling the slolam ...
Great Talent!!
Sean loves to waterski!! He's mastered the dry hair ride! Now time for the big guys on the Molecule!!
Balloon Cove!!
I was so impressed with Dave's commitment to vacationing and
making sure everyone was having fun while his toe kept him
out of the water, hot, and in great pain for a few weeks...
Okay, time for Mom to take a ride ~ Sean volunteered to go with me!
I was SCARED SILLY the whole time I was on the molecule!!
So happy I survived & to be getting back on the safe boat!Look Mom ~ this is how it's really done!
Drew got a flat tire trying to take Britt to see Farley's canyon ...
Charlie & Cris so graciously went to Green River for a new tire for him
so "the kids" wouldn't lose any time on the lake.
They are just the sweetest and most wonderful :)
Wake up Drew ~ time for breakfast & to head back to Denver.
We were sad to say goodbye to Drew & Britt ~ we loved having them with us...
Aunt Cris had a ball on Charlie's jetski! The next morning Cris & Charlie had to go home...
so sad!We had a "Jag Attack" day ... we hid from the sun, kept both
air conditioners on, and watched Jag Episodes for an entire day.
We really enjoyed our break from the heat & sun of the beautiful dessert...Next day? Time for another day of fun on the lake!Calling Aunt Robyn to see how Aunt Ronda was doing...
Another adventurous day...
Trey's birthday and a big trip to Dangling Rope Marina!
Trey drove about 100 miles for his birthday!!
Feeding ice cream to our favorite marina carp & stripers...
The trip back to Bullfrog...And then, another day... we're planning to sleep on the lake!
We spent the night at the end of Lake Canyon... our first lake sleepover
And we absolutely loved it!Sean wanted to fish, so we used a stick, a line, a hook, and a piece of bread.
Don't guffaw, it worked!!!Sean got one! Dad, please take the stinkin' thing off the hook!
Trey had to give it a try, too ... he caught a catfish!
After fishing, it was time for napping! And here comes twilight ...
And the morning dawns ... we were surprised it got so cold!Breakfast on a toy!
And then time to play some more, it never gets old!
And unfortunately, it came time to pull the boat and leave paradise ...We stopped in Fruita for a couple of nights at the State Park on the River...
How flexible are you?? Flexible as a goofball??
Come on, you can do it ~ you gotta' at least try!!
Playing bubble breaker on the Q ... a new game, a new twist,
a new vacation, a new and precious time ...
What a blessed time we had this summer! Can't wait to do it again
(with Robyn & Darold next time!!)
