Chatfield Balloon Festival Camping with the Neighborhood!

We had a great annual camping trip with the 'hood a few weeks ago!
Robyn & Darold suggested that we all camp at Chatfield state park for the
Rocky Mountain Balloon Festival ~ and what a hoot we had!

Waking up Trey for the mass ascension...Sean was quite a bit easier to rouse out of bed!We hiked to a perfect point overlooking the lake and the balloons...
Dave & I were sooo happy .... an awesome weekend with awesome friends...
Precious Robyn & Darold ...Julie, Harp, Sam & Bailey...Jules & Jake (or perhaps Brian)...
Henry, Susan, Caitlin & Bridget...The most awesome kids ever!
Now there's a group to love!
And here they go ~ Up, Up & Away! There were "ducks" floating in the lake for the ballooners to retrieve for prizes...Now here was a sign we all loved (although we were in our land yachts)...
Rednecks nonetheless!
A sign after Robyn's heart ...
Based on her bum, it looks like Robyn can park there!
Dave's prank on Henry & Susan ~ caution tape galore!
And the prank for Jules ... for sale?! Ha ha!!
Harp & Julie's House ...
Darold & Robyn's place...
The eagle's nest ...
The kids LOVED the swim beach...
Hours and hours of the weekend were spent in the lake.
We also had the jetski and gave lots of rides to everyone.

Sean with one of many frogs ...
Bailey, Sam & Sean digging holes & building castles...
Let's swim!
Julie & Dave working hard to keep an eye on the kids!
And would a camping trip be complete without a NASCAR race and barbeque?
This was such a great evening that went on way tooo late!
Unfortunately, we missed getting a family picture of Inger, Lars, Bria & Britta
during their evening dinner visit ~ hope to do better next time :~)
There was a small "expo" at Chatfield as well ...
We were able to see the engine from one of the shuttles ...
And the world's largest rubber-band ball.
This booth was neat because of the give-aways and bouncy rubber-band balls...
We got fun tattoos as Robyn is proudly displaying ...
Orion is the new spaceship that Lockheed Martin is working on...
There was a cool science truck with lots of electricity experiments ...
Bridget had the perfect hair and greatest laugh for the whole audience's enjoyment! This steak was awesome! Sam, Sean, Bailey, Henry, Bridget & I had seconds!
The army display was quite fun for Sean & Sam (and Bridget, too!)
Our adventure even included some time at the model airplane field ...
The planes are so neat and it was really special being there
so close to enjoy them and to enjoy our time with each other!
Ahhh .... Yet another Up, Up, & Away!!
Can't wait 'til next year's adventure!
