The Teens Are Back!!

It was such a great JOY to have 11 teens come to our home
for dinner, games, and journeying this week!

Here's a brief overview of our evening ... complete with pictures!
We had dinner beginning at 6pm .... angel hair pasta with two sauces ~ a red sauce with spicy italian sausage and an alfredo sauce with chicken, bacon, and onions ... cesaer salad ... bread sticks with alfredo sauce ... Yum Yum Yum!!

We had a great long meal with lots of table toy time building and chattering away.
Geo-mags, tic-tac-chek, golf ball in a ball, conversation cards ... all the favorites!

We then had some great group time with introductions and a name game followed by time in the Word ... we read James 5:7-11 aloud ...

Patience in Suffering ~ Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near. Don't grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! Brothers, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

And shared about the hard things we had done, persecutions we face as believers in Christ, our responses to that, perseverance, and the things we can do to stay close to God.

We wrapped up with muffins & brownies for dessert and a few parents popped in to say Hi as they collected their teens which is always a great joy. We are looking forward to next week and the menu planned is gourmet burgers on the grill.

Our prayer is that these teens stay close to Him, read their bibles
and ask lots of questions of the adults who they trust and love.

To God goes all the glory and our hearts just love 'em, love 'em, love 'em!
