Saturday to Sunday of this weekend was a PERFECT transition weekend
from beautiful warm fall days to our first alert that winter is indeed coming!!
Dave, Trey and Sean raked up leaves and mowed the yard Saturday morning
and Dave blew out the sprinklers as indicated by the weather forecast...

Then in the afternoon, we headed to Anderson Farms with Karen, Fred, PJ and Dillon
for a great reunion of our two families.
Here are the boys hamming it up as we got out of Dave's truck...
And a great collection of friends ready for fun...
The kids challenged the adults in a great maze race to get all 12 punches before nightfall...
it was a 2 hour fun adventure ~ which way is that?? How do we get there??
Oh my, oh my, oh my!!!
The beautiful view from the bridge in the maze...
As it got dark, we ate snowcones and then boarded the wagon to Terror in the Corn ...
it was pretty scary as actors jumped out from all around.
This year's theme was Pirates of the Cornnibean and it was extremely well done.
We really had a ball being tense, jumpy & getting scared over & over!
We had purchased "to the front of the line" tickets and were so happy
we were able to bypass this line and get right on the wagon once we were ready to go :)
Karen was as jumpy as could be ...
I love this picture of her crouching on the floor of the wagon after getting scared
(at least she missed getting wet from the skeleton
that popped out of the outhouse as we passed ~ LOL!!)
As we started into Terror in the Corn, the wind started blowing madly...
at first warm, then chilly, then HARD.
Oh my gosh, we could barely keep our eyes open to find the truck
as there was so much dirt blasting around.
We sang and chatted all the way home in the protection of the truck...
and started thinking about what we would get together and do next :)
When we awoke Sunday, we discovered what that wind was up to,
it was bringing us our first snow of the season in the metro area.
It's exciting to see how anxious the boys are for snowboarding this year!

But ~ Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ....
Now my annual challenge begins ~ STAYING WARM!!
