A 10k Swim!

Just a few short hours after our return from China in August ~

Robyn swam a 10k open water race and Darold served

as her protective kayaker (required for swimmer safety).

We had an awesome weekend at Horsetooth of boating, cheering, and enjoying.

"How long?" you might be wondering does it take to swim 10k / 6.2miles ...
That would be 3 hours, 53 minutes, and 54 seconds ~ Amazing!
I've always admired Robyn's strength ~ both of body as well of love.
She is absolutely so unbelievably outstanding!!

The level of encouragement she gives me for living life well is indescribable.

She is one of God's incredible gifts of love to me, and I am so thankful.

from her local Masters Swim Club...And they're off ~ about 100 of them...The swimmers meet up with their kayakers

Dave and I got the boat to follow along...Darold (red kayak), Robyn, and some other race action...

(in my opinion the jetskis were far more trouble than benefit!)Coming into the final bay, go Robyn, go!The finish line!! Yeah!!!Shuttle service back to the other end of the lake :~) A toast to our heros...

(Poor Darold was more sore than Robyn!)And a great barbeque party as well :~)As I said, in addition to the swim,
we had lots of time to play as well!

Trey & Sean were joined by good friends Sam & Bailey...Kelli & Ryan joined in to encourage Robyn & Darold...Ryan & Trey wrestling on the Tube ...

And, to top it all off, Sean & Dad relaxing ... ahhh!

Once again as she got out of the lake after the swim,

Robyn said, "Never again."

But that's what she said last year,

so maybe we'll be able to cheer her on next summer as well :~)

She's so strong and so awesome!!

And I'm so thankful to have such precious memories
of these great weekends of love, exertion, laughs, & relaxation.
