Qué Pasa?

Our youth group on Wednesday nights is growing ~ we had 16 teens this past week. After a monster sub, chips & veggies, Amy read a book, "Is There Really a Human Race" and the teens acted out bible verses and shared their current experiences in the "race" ... what a great group of kiddos we've been blessed to love upon! The weather was great so it was fun being outside!

On Thursday night, we had "Invite a David to Dinner"
in honor of Africa and Youth for Christ.
Four families of Daves and Davids came ~ here are three of the four
(I forgot to pull my camera out until later in the evening and I was so bummed not to get pictures earlier in the night! Sorry Phil, Carol, David & Garrison!)

Staying up late to talk "real" ...Amazing = the quantity of dirty dishes I can create ...
Friday morning, Dave rented a cool wet-saw and cut the capstone bricks
for his most awesome, gorgeous, and beautiful wall!

And then ... drum roll please ...
Friday afternoon we were blessed with a great visit from Ryan & Kelli!Ryan & Kelli are both loving the responsibility & independence of college and that their classes and Boulder jobs are going well ~ all is great :~) And it was so so so so so so special to be able to hang out with them! Friday evening they also were able to scoot over for a visit to Kelli's new nephew Kyle (who is reported to be very, very cute & precious at less than a week old :)

Now here's an interesting tidbit ... This past week, I have been turning my dogs upside down and rubbing their tummies while holding them on my lap to show them,
"You are not the boss of me!" (I call it "alpha-dogging")

Ashleigh loves it ...Is that a saggy chin I see on me? Grrrrr!!
Haley hates being alpha-dogged, but it is working oh-so-well!
Within 5 minutes of arriving home Friday, Ryan said to me,
"What's up with Haley? She's so calm!" Hurrah!!

Ryan, Drew, Rocky, and Frese wrapped up Ryan's first trip home with what else?
An an all-night halo tournament! (Crazy, crazy, crazy teens!)Unfortunately we were hit with crime while they played :( Frese' left a door unlocked to his car and his new ipod car charger and snowboarding boots and binders were stolen. Officer Josh told us while taking the report that theft from open garages and unlocked cars is the number 1 crime in Douglas County. It is such a big big big bummer for Frese and a good lesson for all of us.

Sataurday Dave and I shopped the used furniture store for outdoor furniture for the back porch so we could create an inviting environment outside to enjoy gazing out the new wall.

After taking Ryan back to Boulder (which couldn't be sad since he's so happy!), and after Drew's day at the "Office" working, Brittany had arrived for dinner and a movie with Drew.
But... He was out like a light (ya' think after no sleep?)

So while Dave drove back again to Boulder to take Ryan the forgotten backpack and computer,
Brittany and I took in a "chick flick" and had our own date. Talk about fun! We saw The Illusionist, which takes place in turn-of-the century Vienna and both of us recommend it very highly.
We arrive back to find Drew "kind of" awake for a hug and cuddle.
Sean's best buds Sam & Lars were over Saturday night
for a great, fun, adventurous sleepover with movies, games, and chatter.

Sunday is planned to look like our "usual" great day ...
Sunday School in the morning, relaxation & football in the afternoon,
Picking Trey up at 3pm from the Junior High weekend retreat, and
Church services & hosting cafe for 150 in the evening.
I should get some pix!
