Stolen Water ...

Wow... let's be real.

Can we feel safe enough to be open with the "real" stuff we are dealing with in our lives? The hard stuff? The things we'd rather not have our friends know about us? Can we bring together different parts of our lives into one whole integrated being through honesty, with God and those that love us?

After a great brisket dinner from Jan, Amy led a wonderful time with our youth group in teaching about the "real" temptations in life. We all have different desires and temptations of sin. What are the ones that we are dealing with? What does the Bible have to say? We broke into small groups to share our hearts and then came back together to share with one another.

Stolen water is sweet,

Food eaten in secret is delicious!

But little do they know that the dead are there,

that her guests are in the depths of the grave

So ... take off your shoes and relax... Ahh, that's better.

Now take a few moments to honestly ask yourself, what is your "stolen water"?

The temptations that entice you with promises of fun, excitement, desire, comfort, self-satisfaction, but are really just dark pits? Boxes you can be lured into, that if you could look past the walls, you'd see the hole of the grave that you're actually in?

Are you ready to face the reality,

recognize that God wants the best for you,

And ask your friend(s) to help you out of the pit?
