Spring is Coming...

Sunday morning I awoke to a blanket of fog ... but it was warmer than it had been in awhile, perhaps in the mid to upper 30s, and the time was earlier with the spring ahead. I buckled on Miss Ashleigh's collar and leash and we ventured out for the first walk we've taken in awhile. The snow's almost all melted and the sidewalks are clear of ice ~ hurrah!

The fog wasn't the thickest we've seen, but the visability was only about 4 houses. As we walked, the sun shone through and over the 30 minutes we walked the fog completely dissipated leaving a bright shiny sunny day in it's wake. From the rain the night before, our first in forever, the worms were out crawling on the sidewalks trying to fend off drowning, and the incredibly chubby orange-chested american robins were having feasts. Other birds were cackling and singing in the high trees of the greenbelt. The first green tips of our neighbors daffodils were poked up about 3 inches, the few pussy willows around the neighborhood were starting to bud on the tops, and a couple of the maples were showing signs of buds soon to be. It was crisp and bright and my ears burned with the warm pain of too-cold temperatures and wind chill. Ashleigh trotted along as if she were 5 instead of almost 15. It was lovely.

And as I prayed, thanking the Lord for His Truth and His Love
and humbly asking for His participation in all areas of my life,
He reminded me so tenderly ...

There must be Winter to receive the gifts of Spring

So, when the winter is harder than usual, the spring is even sweeter! :)
